how Amla became ‘Project Asha’

hope can be stronger that fate, and the residents of village Amla are a testament to that notion. the people of Amla have been living under a tree of hope for the past 4 decades, a hope of a better tomorrow. located 140 kms from Mumbai, Amla is devoid of any basic necessities forget modern technology.

partnering with the NGO AROEHAN, Siemens executives visited the village to analyze and understand the issues faced by the residents. to understand their plight better, Siemens involved the residents and asked them to identify the issues they face on a day-to-day basis. they were also asked to point out the available resources in the village that can be used during the redevelopment phase. once the issues and the resources were highlighted, a redevelopment plan was sketched out by Siemens.

after spending sometime planning the redevelopment, Siemens set out to bring a change and pay it forward. the village is currently undergoing the necessary changes and once completed, the villagers will be able to see  their age long hope of electricity, water, year-long food, and more becoming a reality.
